San José Mayor Celebrates California Governor’s Proposals to Build California’s Clean Future
SAN JOSE, CA – California Governor Gavin Newsom announced the state’s plans for permitting and project review reforms, and streamlining processes to build California’s clean energy future and create thousands of jobs in the state. San José Mayor Matt Mahan released the following statement:
“Great to see Governor Newsom leading on sensible CEQA reform. For too long, overly cumbersome processes and legal challenges have stood in the way of projects we need – such as infrastructure investments and housing. It’s a false choice to say we can’t protect our environment while responsibly investing in our future.”
