MILLINGTON, Tenn. – Sailors help maintain America’s advantage at sea. This means they do not always get to celebrate holidays with their loved ones. A Sunnyvale, California, native serving in the United States Navy is currently serving aboard USS Arleigh Burke and wishes loved ones a happy holiday.

“The holidays are a time for faith, food, family…and more food,” said Ensign Johnny Sansone. “To have that is a Christmas miracle.”Sansone wants family back home to know they are missed this holiday season.“Not even the brightest glimmer of sunlight on the Mediterranean Sea shines as brightly as your love,” added Sansone. “I am so blessed to call you family.”

With more than 90 percent of all trade traveling by sea, and 95 percent of the world’s international phone and internet traffic carried through fiber optic cables lying on the ocean floor, Navy officials continue to emphasize that the prosperity and security of the United States is directly linked to a strong and ready Navy.

Thank you for supporting the men and women who serve in the Navy our nation needs.
